Yep i really do love this technique. Thought it would be a nice background for a fathers day card so i got out my Gold, True Thyme and really rust Reinkers to see what i could come up with as far as colourings went. OOH did that come up well i don’t know that the photo really does it justice i may take another photo to see if i can get a better one.
I have a workshop on in Melbourne this weekend and this is one of the demonstrations i will be doing. I love to give my hostesses something a little different to see and keep.

See i told you i was addicted to trying new techniques.
i demonstrated this technique at a workshop using the Lovely as a tree set and thought it would look nice as a background for a christmas card so what did i do? I purchased the cranberry crisp and the true thyme reinkers and tried it out. Don’t you think it looks lovely?

I would like you to meet Libby or bib as we call her and Quinn or boof head as i call him.
they are my daughters dogs only a year old but such a strong pair. Careful if you come to my house cause if they jump on you then you will probably end up on your butt.
We are sitters of them while she finds a house to live in. Glad she doesn’t have any children or we would probably be raring them.

Can’t have you all getting bored with my blog so here is another card i made recently which was an inspired card.
Using the seeing spots, snow flurries and the riveting stamp sets
Always artichoke, bravo burgundy and whisper white are the colours and some of our lovely ribbon.
A very very easy christmas card to make and if you are coming along on Saturday i will have everything there for you to make it for yourself.
Tapestry Technique July 18, 2007

I think i must have a facination with learning new techniques over the past couple of weeks.
You know there is so much more to stamping than just putting some ink on paper. Just look at the things i have learned since signing with Stampin’Up!
I wasn’t a stamper or a cardmaker before i became a stampin’up! demonstrator, i had dabbled a little of course but i am so glad that i did this for me and especially for the people i have met over the past year.
this was a challenge as shown by Lyn http://stamperosity.blogspot.com/
1. versamark your whisper white or very vanilla cardstock and then sponge on 3 coloured inks.(i have used night of navy, bordering blue and buckaroo blue)
2. ink up a background image with whisper white craft ink(i have used the lovely as a tree set
3. emboss with clear embossing powder
4. stamp your image and complete your card.

“Scribble this” what a pretty stamp set don’t you think.
i made this for a mini swap i am participating in. I need to make 12 of them but this was so easy and came together beautifully with the choc chip and the pretty in pink.
i used the watercolour pencils WOW don’t i just love these. Bought them with the discount promo this month. a huge 25% off when i purchased $50 in products which of course was a whole lot cheaper because of demonstrator discounts.
You could get this discount too just email me at khunter@vic.chariot.net.au for some information.

Magic Layers Technique/Tutorial July 10, 2007

I was asked by members of the Elite Stampers if i could explain to them the technique Magic Layers. I saw this on the internet a long while ago and to the lady i was inspired by gina k thankyou. although at the time i didn’t do a very good job of it i have since found some nice colour combinations for this and as such have come up with a nice demonstration to teach at my home workshops.
This is not quite the same as Gina K’s but its my spin on it.
so for everyone who wants to know how to do this here it is in point form.
I have used the garden annuals stampin around wheel and the thankyou from the much appreciated set.
the colors I chose are Apricot appeal for the base card, kraft white for the layer and then i needed to use the Gloss cardstock all available just by emailing me to order and have sent straight to your door.
You will need versamark, clear embossing powder, powder pal, heat gun, embossing buddy, brayer, brads, crafters tool kit, adhesive and the apricot appeal, pumpkin pie and ruby red stamp pads and also some different sized post it notes.
1. rub the embossing buddy over the gloss cardstock to remove any static so that where you place the versamark is the only place that the powder will adhere to.
it also pays to rub over the powder pal so that you can get all the excess powder back into the pot.
2. ink up the thankyou stamp with versamark and stamp into position on the gloss cardstock. Ink up the garden annuals wheel and run across the gloss cardstock, immediately sprinkle clear embossing powder over the versamarked images and heat till powder is melted. ( TAKE CARE TO NOT SLIDE THE STAMP AS YOU INK WITH THE VERSAMARK. GLOSS CARDSTOCK IS VERY SLIPPERY)
3. Using a brayer ink up with apricot appeal stamp pad and run the brayer across the gloss cardstock. the embossed images will resist the ink and you will be left with the white image and an apricot card (this alone is called emboss resist)
4. take post it notes and if you like you can cut them into shapes and adhere to the gloss cardstock (make sure to use a small amount of extra snail so that they don’t move, this will easily come off as it is a gloss paper) ink up the brayer with the pumpkin pie and carefully brayer over the card again. DO NOT REMOVE THE POST IT NOTES AT THIS POINT.
5. Using a larger size post it note adhere again to the gloss cardstock and this time brayer with the Ruby red.
6. Remove post it notes and you will be left with different shadings of colour.
7. Embellish and put your card together.
8. rub over with a tissue to remove excess ink.
